pg_search: Bringing Elasticsearch-Grade Search to PostgreSQL
ParadeDB is the modern Elastic alternative built as a Postgres extension.
This is a talk about search. We will cover search use cases, Postgres' existing search functionality, and areas where it needs improvement. We'll then discuss pg_search, a Postgres extension that brings Elasticsearch-quality full-text, vector and hybrid search to Postgres. We will discuss the technical architecture and use cases of the extension. The talk will conclude with real-world examples and motivations for future work at the intersection of PostgreSQL and search.
