Demystifying PostgreSQL High Availability in the Cloud: Architectures, Tradeoffs and Decisions
Presented by:
No video of the event yet, sorry!
High availability for PostgreSQL takes on new dimensions in cloud environments, and the range of architectural options has grown considerably. This session presents a framework for thinking about PostgreSQL HA in the cloud, organized around increasing levels of resilience and complexity — from native replication, through managed single-region deployments, to multi-region and advanced architectures. For each tier, we’ll compare capabilities against the metrics that matter — RPO, RTO, read scale, geographic distribution, operational effort, and cost — so you can match architecture to requirement. Attendees will leave with a concrete framework for evaluating PostgreSQL HA choices, along with a decision matrix and use-case mapping they can apply to their own systems.
